Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is the name of a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She's professionally referred to as Aurora. Her name can also be stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval by music blogs and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band to promote John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among her most renowned covers. She gained some further recognition through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Happy birthday to her. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering the piano she had in her attic and being fascinated by the music it could make. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes on to try music as an activity or as a profession. She began to write her own compositions. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with a love for Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her music could aid in her gaining fame, but also make people see the importance of their music within the global community and see the possibilities for her songs, she opted to start performing in public. Her first piano lesson was when she was just six and began to write music when she was nine. The family members didn't know about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. Aurora says that she likes music and writing. She believes that music is the best way to feel any emotion.
